This album is off the godamn hook!! It has just dropped, a brand new album for 2009. Featuring all sorts of amazing artists, this is one debstep album not to be overlooked. The album pounds really damn hard, and it's got a few really different tracks. If youre a dubstep fan you probably already own this disc, if not, go get it now and ENJOY!

Pendulum: In Silico

Honestly, if you haven't heard this band/album yet, you must be hiding from the outside world! Their debut album 'Hold your Color' is the top selling drum&bass album of all time! Talk about an incredible accomplishment.

The first album was all DJ and electronics. This album is a live drum&bass band, and they are unreal! The style is harmonic, fast and beautifully arranged, perfect for new listeners. Please enjoy this disc responsibly!

Kosheen: Resist

This album is really quite old, but I must put it on display because it broke so many boundries and fused so many genres. The group is made of 3 folk from Bristol. They've got 3 albums, this one is the first and by far my favourite.

The name of the group is a combination of the Japanese words for "old" (Ko), and "new" (Shin). Some of the oustanding tracks on this one: all of them. Get this NOW!

Crystal Castles

I've been to see this duo in Toronto (their home town) at Circa. I must say that their video game inspired glitchy dance music is incredibly hypnotic. The brother spins the beats, sampling lots of 8-bit garbage from the 80's. Thankfully the final product is perfect for the young generation of glitchy attention deprived pill poppers.

I'd at least check out their Myspace Page and give them a try. Canada Represent!!

Breakbeat Science: Volume One

Wordup lovers.

This disc is off the godamn hook. I used to work at HMV (record store). One glorious afternoon back in 2003, I reached into the promo bin to find some goodies - and this is the masterpeice i retreived.

Mixed by DJ Dara, this drum and bass mix is exactly what you're looking for! Different from most common d&b, this tape combines extra fast tempos (mainly heavy on the kicks), and really fast basslines. The result is something of a speed d&b album with plenty of good sampling materials.

Highly recomend this one, it's the first in a set of three as far as I know. The other 2 are okay, but this one by DJ Dara is sure to please.

Enjoy.

Liquid Tension Experiment Trilogy

As a bass junkie it's not always just the bassline that does the trick, a power drummer can be just as if not more devastating! This is a trio of albums by a jam band spun out of Dream Theater. Seriously, Dream Theater is an epic band, but the LTE trilogy is just downright amazing! I don't need vocals on my metal, I simply want layers upon layers of metal. Please.

The 3 albums were recorded in short sessions, then released as 3 separate albums. Volume One will always be in my classic library. This album is sure to impress anyone, even if they hate metal.

Volume Two is also in my classics library, its outstanding. The level of professionalism and dedication these guys show is outstanding.

Volume Three sounds like the out-takes from the first two discs. Don't get me wrong, buy this too, I just don't rank it nearly as high.

If you haven't already, check out the entire Dream Theater calologue for thousands of unreal riffs and basslines.

As a final thought, can we please get some dubstep and d&b producers/disc jocky's to remix some of this high calibre metal? I think it needs some thought.

Thanks for reading and checking out all my other writings, they're effin' dope-sonic.

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez: Calibration

This is an older disc recorded in 2007 and is an outstanding listen. Omar has a slew of awesome talent on this record (Frusciante, Cedric, Pridgen, etc), and he's extra experimental with his electronics. There are a lot of strange sounds on this album, and a lot of incredibly catchy grooves.

It's not often that Omar rips a groove that even my mother could enjoy... that said, the last track on this disc is flippin mental and it makes me want to shred!

I recommend this album to anyone who loved drum and bass along with psychedelic rock.

Easy Star All Stars: Dub Side of the Moon

If you enjoy Pink Floyd along with anything else psychedelic, and you also enjoy reggae or dub, then I hope you've already listened to this album.

This cover album of 'Dark Side of the Moon' is an outstanding rendition! Even if you're not a fan of the Floyd version, this record is perfect for relaxing and enjoying good times with your friends. The beats are smooth, the mood is up and down - it's exactly what you'd get if you mixed Floyd with Dub&Bass. It's amazing!

This record came out in 2003. When I originally found it, it came packaged with 'Radiodread' which is a complete makeover of OK Computer.

Another notable artist here is 'Dread Zeppelin'. Mixing Elivs, Dub and Led Zeppelin. Thank you!

Girl Talk: Feed the Animals

OK party people. This disc isn't so new, but if you haven't heard, now you have... this is easily one of the most likable party mashups anyone has ever heard. Please give this a listen, you will not be disappointed! I've read posts online that claim there are over 150 samples on this disc (that's a lot right?)

The CD is absolutely outstanding and a boatload of fun to drink and dance to. How can we sweeten the deal even further? Well, it's completely free to download from GirlTalk Myspace. Enjoy!

Isaiah Ikey Owens: Free Moral Agents Rips

According to the Comatorium, Isaiah Ikey Owens the zany keyboard player for the Mars Volta, has released 2 free LIVE recordings from his side project called Free Moral Agents. These tunes are off the damn hook so please enjoy them responsibly and tell your friends!

I'm hoping that the rest of this music will soon become available. I do plenty of research each day and I'll be posting here regularly.

If anyone else has news or information about the upcoming Octahedron album, please send it my way. Cheers!

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez: Cryptomnesia

I like to mix up my genres. As a true junkies and audiophiles, we have a responsibility to bump anything that's fresh and spine tinglinininin'.

I present Cryptomnesia, the new band from Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. It's beyond filthy.
The new record brings 10 songs (11 is nothing). It's just as demented as you'd hoped! So many layers to lock into, Zach Hill is beyond grimey. He broke his foot during a live show and kept playing. Rock gods live forever.

It's funny that Zach from Hella teamed up with Omar. I don't know either of them but I knew they'd eventually make ear sex with one another... the fans rejoice. The tracklist:
1. TUBERCULOIDS
2. HALF KLEPTOS
3. CRYPTOMNESIA
4. THEY'RE COMING TO GET YOU, BARBARA
5. PUNY HUMANS
6. SHAKE IS FOR 8TH GRADERS
7. NOIR
8. PAPER CUNTS
9. ELDERLY PAIR BEATEN WITH HAMMER

10. WARREN OATES
11. FUCK YOUR MOUTH
My pal in Belgium offered me a download link to get the torrent/leak of Cryptomnesia! Visit The Mars Volta Bog to download!

That's that. If you like this post, please visit some of my other sites, thanks.

Rusko

I went to see Rusko live in Toronto recently. I want everyone in the world to be crippled by his bass. You can catch Rusko on Myspace or trying downloading some of his torrents. It doesn't take long to find a full gigabyte of his music (complete discography & all live performances). Long short of it, this guy is dope and needs to be recognized in Canada!

Please note I've started this space because I'm bored of getting shitty biased news from overspammed marketers. I will have ads because it will encourage me to work harder. Thanks everyone!
